Sons and daughters Look up and know Light up your faces Let them glow And you can feel the colors of the world Just like a book You'll open wide Inside yourself You'll see the skies And you'll become a color of the world Please be kind Don't burn your eyes On the sun that shines On us Take the time And learn to fly And then, go, go, go All that comes and all that goes Must see it soar and then explode And you will bleed the colors of the world Hand in hand Or back to back We're stuck together Fact is fact And all make up the colors of the world Please be wise Don't turn your eyes From the sun that shines on us Take your time You'll need the guide And then go, go, go

You can't stop me now And it's all over your face Stop me now And if you wanted to try Wanted to try it You can't I know you can't And I've got more than you did count on And talking out you realize what a dummkopf Cause I'll be waiting for ya And I'm holding for a good time Yes, I'm holding for a good time You can't stop me now My mind's all over the place Stop me now, and it's all over your face And I know you can't Cause I've got secrets And you've got gout And I've got more than you did count on Finding out you realize what a dummkopf But I'll be waiting for ya And I'm holding for a good time Yes I'm holding for a good time To tell to you you're mine

People, at all times Lose all control It's now time, see all, People People, in line Crowd's calm down, Bright light, on fire People People go, and they never can back No, I don't wanna live like that I'm movin' on Go, go, go People, a loud cry See it all around As grass grows, wind blows People, landslide See through dark eyes People movin' on, they say
4.
Well, we all just want to have it all The prettiest one of the kind And some just get to have it all The prettiest one of the kind Never knowing if it's ever true Getting all the lovely things you'd choose Hear it out you know you've got a voice Wait and see if time will sing-a-long Here it out, scream in doubt Know if there is something for you See without, fear and doubt All your dreams would come true Cause we all just want to have it all
5.
I can see it in your eyes The way it twists and turns inside And I know the way it feels When it hurts to even breathe Remember you were young and bright Wouldn't let the clouds fill up your sky Made your faith in mystery Never took it too seriously You can't hide from their eyes You can't seem to disguise It won't help to confide They can't hold your insides You're not the only one You wish everything was clear But as you climb they'll hold your feet Direct you towards their own desires And your world will turn to fire Don't you hide when you've sunk Can get worse, gets rough Believe me, they won't bluff They'll shut you, out of hope You're not the only one, Who will turn around in fear Smile as you are in tears Let it go, and show the way you feel
6.
You don't ever want to say Our time is now You just wanna hesitate Our time is now You just slag around and take What I've already found You don't ever want to change your face It's the same old sound You never seem to pick up the pace You're in, your own cloud You just float away in space There on the ground Cause you break down Break down, baby Break down, under pressure No excuses left to make It's all around you Taking while you just play And wear their hearts out You just seem to be in phase And fading fast now There's no moment left to raise It's on, the ground You just break down Genius
7.
Well if I can't wait for you anymore Then you know there's something else I can't wait to see you up And running like before Cause you know me And you know I'd be there on the floor Waiting for you And you know I'd be there at the door Out of Nowhere I can't wait to see you up Knowing you belong I cant wait to see us out Knowing we'll be strong
8.
A Lot To Say 04:13
I've got a lot to say They think they've got a hold of me Live in and out of touch Taking the world in front of me Do you feel, like every lasting moment's a loss I know what you think is the cause Taking every single part of me You've got a lot to say You think you've got a hold of me Dead in the loser's luck Go on and take the rest of me Cause all you've seen is No heart, no sway Hold on, you say There's no real have Stand all reason, over your head Go on, say goodbye When all you've seen has Turned your back straight Backwards you step No luck, no save Forget your reason Take all you've said Go on, say goodbye You've got a lot to say
9.
It's easy to see, you'll listen to nothing Your mind's all locked, shut up and sealed I didn't know that it couldn't be even Riding alone as a broken wheel When I get a chance, I'll enjoy every moment Cause I can't, get a hold on you Now I'm running out fast, cause I'm getting nowhere You'd think I didn't care anymore Cause you can't find any reason why I'd Walk right out on you And you won't get any feeling as I Walk right out on you And I know it won't be easy but I Walk right out on you, gone Going for broke, fighting for nothing There must be a way before it's done Stuck in a mould, they present you as something But I just feel like a loaded gun When I get out, I can have my emotion Cause I can't, get a hold on you Now I'm running out fast, and I'll stay in motion Til you think I don't care anymore Cause I just don't care anymore
10.
I’m leaving it on your shoulders to see If it will be bought, the price of our being Let’s open it up, the package of treats We might find a different view We may have knew We covered it up, the mess that we made It’s growing a bug, and we’ve gotta change The burden I’ve brought, the ache and displace And I know it’s made you blue, I just wish I thought it through Cause we could belong again Let’s make a hard attempt No breaking, fold or bend If we’re to make it up Even the lonely know, friend But we will go on Precious indeed And it won’t be long ‘Til you will agree It’s simple to know The joy you can bring We’ll sound off another cue Come running up through you We could belong again Let’s make a hard attempt No resting on regret If we’re to make it up Even the lonely know, friend

about

Released 6/22/07: "Unabashedly power pop, The Mercies are a new band formed in Rochester, NY by former Longwave drummer Mike James. The self-titled debut is a lovingly crafted encomium to punk-rock energy, stadium rock riffle, and Brit-Pop punch, with instantly catchy song craft. Somewhere along the way they ended up crafting this year's perfect summertime pop soundtrack. Turn it up and open all the windows - they don't make records like this everyday". -The Planetary Group

RIYL: Apples In Stereo, Sloan, Nada Surf

"With a jaunty nod to British and American influences, The Mercies have made a record that would be right at home in the Elephant Six Collective. Cheeky keyboards dart through uncluttered kick and snare while overdriven guitars bounce along with melodies, offering a tight and tidy package of guitar pop. Just when you’re really settling in to the album, you’re pummeled with stacked, clean, multi-part harmonies, and occasional affected drums that further drive the slightly dreamy sound directly out of this atmosphere and into orbit. The record even sports a mellower acoustic track. Perhaps the most impressive part of the overall product is that The Mercies have managed to build a cohesive album that hints at the best parts of the last wave of industry changing bands (The Killers, Interpol), but aren’t afraid to make a pure pop song that as jubilant as it is catchy."
